Goldendale loses thriller at home to Granger

MIDDLE SIZE; Goldendale doesn’t have the six-footer this year, but Madison Holbrook does the job, as above against Granger.

Goldendale dropped to fourth place in the SCAC west following a very entertaining volleyball match against a very young Granger Spartan team. The match started with a split of close games followed by a wipeout victory by Goldendale that looked to have worn out the Spartans in game three. But Granger made a match of it by taking the fourth and eking out a close win in the final game.

Granger frequently had three freshmen and a pair of sophomores on the floor during the match, but they looked like an experienced team as they won the opener 25-22 on the Timberwolves home court. Goldendale evened it up in a match that was often tied heading down the stretch with the deciding two points going...
