Peter LaCoursiere Jr.



Peter Armond LaCoursiere, Jr. passed away on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at his home in Spokane Valley, WA at the age of 81.

Peter, or Pete as his friends refer to him, was born May 6, 1931 in Ferland, Saskatchewan, Canada to Peter A. LaCoursiere, Sr. and Violet Rose LaCoursiere. Peter married Catharine A. Rodinchuk in 1955 and had two children, Connie and Peter J. before moving to Goldendale, WA in 1957. After moving to Goldendale, they had four more children, Diana, Cindy, Mary Ann and John. Pete had various jobs, including working as a gas station attendant for the local Texaco station; parts manager at Sherman Chevrolet; warehouse manager for the OK Rubber plant and finally, a licensed contractor in partnership with Leon Ward.

Peter loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family.

Later, Peter married Norma Rash in 1977.

Peter was a loving husband to his wife Norma; a caring father, uncle, brother, grandfather and friend to all he knew. Peter stayed strong and endured to the very end. He will be missed greatly.

Peter is preceded in death by his sister, Delores LaCoursiere; father Peter A. LaCoursiere Sr .; mother, Violet Rose LaCoursiere and stepdaughter, Lisa Marie Ladiges.

Surviving Peter is his wife, Norma LaCoursiere; sister, Vivian Doyea of Tacoma, WA; children, Connie Riches and husband Larry, of Goldendale, WA; Peter J. LaCoursiere of Hermiston, OR .; Diana LaCoursiere of Oregon City, OR .; Cindy LaCoursiere of Yakima, WA; Mary Ann LaCoursiere of Kent, WA; John LaCoursiere of Vancouver, WA; stepchildren, Joseph Woodbury of Spokane, WA; Norman Woodbury and wife Gina, also of Spokane; 14 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 1405 S. 24th Ave., in Yakima, WA 98902 on Oct. 29, 2012, at 1 p.m.
