Wolves settle for third or fourth seed after loss to Leopards


Tough serving got the better of the Goldendale Lady Timberwolves last week at Zillah. The Leopards pulled away from the injury-riddled Wolves in a tight opening match to win 25-16. The second set was only close up to a 4-4 score. Zillah went on to score 21 of the next 24 points for the 25-7 win. The final set wasn’t much better with Zillah on top 25-10.

With a pair of wins and a two-game lead over fifth place La Salle, the Timberwolves are secure for the District tournament. They took on league leader Naches Valley on Tuesday and finish with an important match at Granger on Thursday. The Spartans were a 3-2 winner on Oct. 2.
