McKenna speaks to packed PUD meeting

Washington gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna came to Goldendale Tuesday, Oct. 30, and spoke to a full room at the Klickitat PUD.

"Per capita, this is one of the largest turnouts we've seen," McKenna said.

McKenna spoke for about a half hour, delivering a strong campaign speech supporting more financial resources for education and ease of operating small businesses in Washington.

"Washington ranks as one of the most expensive states to do business," McKenna said. "That's got to change."

He said it was time to reward performance, not seniority, in government. And he called for stronger education measures supporting school principals who were excellent teachers and not just administrators....
