God... er... some force doesn’t save us from what we want



You may have heard the saying, “God does not save us from what we want.”

It’s hardly a warm-and-fuzzy reminder of a particular aspect of the Deity’s relationship with us, given that its point is that what we do with free will falls squarely, and only, on our own shoulders. But that’s a point every conscientious parent makes to their own children in preparing them for the world beyond parental borders.
