Clinton and Roberts race way to State

SOGGY RUN: Peter Clinton ran to a third place finish in the pouring rain at Ellensburg on Thursday.

Bickleton came seconds away from sending their boys’ cross country team to State for the second time, finishing one point behind Manson for third place at the District cross country meet in Ellensburg.

Bickleton’s top two runners qualified for State with Peter Clinton running a 17:09 for third place and freshman Troy Roberts finishing sixth in 17:29. Both Pirate runners were ahead of Manson’s top runner who placed seventh. But Manson’s second and third runners were 10th and 12th, ahead of Kane Lowe in 14th and Joey Cardenas in 21st.
