• MONUMENTAL TASK – United Telephone volunteers from Hood River help make Goldendale’s Pioneer Monument readable. Kelly Smith, Treve Gray and La Vonne Miller apply plastic coating to allow for the darkening of the monument’s letters.

50 Years Ago – November 8, 1962

• Property owners, on C (now Collins) Street between King and Loop Drive, were assured that restoration of the street surface to good condition, with asphaltic concrete surfacing wherever needed, would be required under the bonding agreement.
