Clinton and Roberts race for Bickleton at State meet

PIRATE PRIDE: Bickleton was represented at the State cross-country meet by senior, Peter Clinton and freshman, Troy Roberts. Clinton was cheered on for the final mile by his mother Kim, in the black and blue cap.

Peter Clinton closed out his senior year in cross-country with a 27th place finish at the State class B cross-country meet in Pasco. Clinton, who turned to cross-country at Bickleton after concussions while playing football at Mabton, emerged as a top runner in District 5 with just two years of experience. His time of 17:57.3 was about five seconds better than last year’s run at Pasco.

Clinton’s teammate, Troy Roberts had a time of 18:39.0 in the race, 58th overall and sixth best time among freshmen. It was also Roberts’ second year at State, having competed as an eighth grader with a time of 18:44 in 2011.
