Wolves exit playoffs with strong match against Zillah

It might seem strange to say, but Goldendale’s volleyball team finished their season on a high note. No, they did not finish with a win and no, they are not going to State. But, they played at a high level against huge odds in a 3-2 loss to Zillah, Saturday evening. It put an end to a season right about where many expected the team to finish, although the way it transpired in the District playoffs was surprising to almost everyone.

At the first of the year, Coach Jodi Bellamy believed Zillah, Granger and Naches Valley would compete with Goldendale for the top four places in the SCAC west. Bellamy figured Connell would be the power in the east with not much else from that league. That a...
