Help needed to defray costs of lung transplant


Clifford West of Goldendale was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis five months ago. This is a progressive scarring of the lungs, for which there is no cure. His family was grateful to learn this week that West has been accepted as a recipient for a lung transplant.

When the organ becomes available, he will be moving closer to the hospital while waiting for the transplant. He will be required to stay near the hospital for 3-6 months after the surgery. West’s wife, Patty will be staying in Goldendale to continue working, while commuting on the weekends to be with him.
