Huxley inducted into weight lifting Hall of Fame

HALL OF FAME: Nadine Huxley receives a plaque in recognition of her induction into the WABDL Hall of Fame for her long history of record setting weight lifting. Presenting the plaque is Gus Rethwisch, head of the association.

Noted Goldendale area weight-lifter, Nadine Huxley, was inducted into the World Association of Bench and Dead Lift (WABDL) during competition on Nov. 14 in Las Vegas. Huxley currently holds eight Washington State records and several world records.

Last week’s event was the 2012 WABDL championship meet and Huxley continued with her record setting performances. Huxley set a new world record bench lift in the women’s 54-60 year old age division for 165 pound class with a lift of 270 pounds, besting her previous world record of 242 pounds. She was also voted overall best lifter at the meet. Huxley also was second in her class in the deadlift with a personal best 347 pounds.
