“Big John” Tallman died November 12, 2012 surrounded by his family at his home in Goldendale.

John was born March 8, 1939 in Goldendale to Ben and Hazel (Glover) Tallman, the second of six children. Except for two years spent living in Yakima John lived his entire life in Goldendale. He was a logger until the logging industry began to fail. He then went to work at the Boise Cascade mill in Goldendale where he worked until it closed. John enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, mushrooming, gardening and his earlier years dancing at the Oasis. Most of all he loved his family and family get-togethers.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ben and Hazel Tallman, first wife Vicki, brother Bennie Tallman and sisters Diana (Tallman) Fields and Linda (Tallman) Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Kitt (Naught) Tallman, sister Allene Takahashi of Maryhill, WA, brother Clay Tallman of Ritzville, WA, children Debbie Tallman Mannino and John T. Tallman (Carren) of Goldendale and Buster Tallman of Thorp WA; grandchildren Brandy Crawford of Goodfellow Air Force Base, San Angelo, TX and Zeb Crawford of Aviano Air Force Base Italy, Chance Tallman of Thorp, WA, Cole Tallman of Alaska, Arrow Tallman of Boise, ID, and Tanner and Tory Tallman of Goldendale; great grandchildren Carolynn, Kayla and Milla Crawford of Florida. He is also survived by step daughters Donita (Naught) Brownlee of Parkdale, OR and Mikki Naught of Bickleton, WA; step grandchildren Jessa (Jake) Fey, and Emma and Wyatt Brownlee all of Parkdale, OR and Andy, Sam and Megan Gremp of Bickleton, WA and step great grandson Cedar Fey of Parkdale, OR.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to KVH Hospice or the Goldendale Pregnancy Resource Center.
