Sharon Kuhnhausen

Sharon Dee (Marvel) Kuhnhausen, 51, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the Toppenish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Sharon was a life-time resident of Goldendale and served medical patients while working at the Goldendale Family Practice Clinic. For the past 18 years, Sharon fought the effects of Multiple Sclerosis with courage and strength. Throughout this period, her family and friends spent countless hours caring for Sharon, providing physical and emotional support while sharing stories of their families’ activities. She taught us that in times of great difficulty, there is always hope, a reason to push forward and to be positive. Her strength was an inspiration to us all. We learned from Sharon that “dessert should be served first.”

Sharon’s passing was preceded by grandparents Paul and Nellie Miller of Bickleton and Bill and Nell Marvel of Goldendale; her father, Bill Marvel Jr., uncles Bob Marvel and Bobbie Miller, cousin Bobbie Wright and nephew Jacob Marvel.

Survivors include her husband Vern Kuhnhausen of Goldendale, two daughters, Lenea Darragh (Shawn) of Cowley, Alberta and Katelyn Cooper (Robert) of Albany, Oregon; grandchildren Quynlen, Gracey and Madelinn; mother, Ina Marvel of Goldendale, sisters Judy Johnson (Mike) of Yakima, and Karen Forbes (David) of Birch Bay, Washington; brothers Ken Marvel (Dianne) of Goldendale and Clint Marvel (Patti) of Spokane, Washington; eight nieces and one nephew.

A memorial service will be held at the Goldendale Grange Hall, Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. The family asks that memorial gifts be directed to either the Goldendale High School Scholarship Foundation or the Inland N.W. Chapter, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 818 E. Sharp, Spokane, WA 99202.
