Hard working middle weights increase numbers in GHS wrestling program

There is a big change in wrestling this year, one that has the coaches excited for a different reason than last year.

At this time a year ago, Goldendale had three seniors who were good bets to make the finals round at the State wrestling tournament. It didn’t quite turn out as hoped, but Nolin Bare and Braydon Ross won third place medals and Kurt Wilkins took home fourth.

This year has a totally different look with 23 wrestlers at practice, up seven from last year and just one senior. There are just 10 of the 23 who have had experience wrestling at the high school level and several who have little or no experience at all.
