New 97 bridge open


Drivers on US 97 north of Goldendale are now rolling over the new, permanent wildlife connectivity bridge over Butler Creek.

The changeover from the temporary bridge used during construction occurred at 5 p.m. Monday.

The work zone speed limit on US 97 remains 35 mph while crews working with the Washington State Department of Transportation continue construction activities in the area.

The traffic shift lifts a load-width restriction that has been in effect since August.
