Johnson, King speak on state issues

PREDICTING THE FUTURE: On Thursday Sen. Curtis King said a coalition could form in the state Senate between some Democrats and Senate Republicans to effectively give Republicans control of the Senate. That coalition was formed Monday.

Sen. Curtis King and Rep. Norm Johnson, fresh from their re-elections as state officials, visited the Greater Goldendale Chamber of Commerce business lunch forum Thursday at Gee’s Restaurant, and Johnson announced that his fortune cookie had the solution to the state’s problems.

“It says, ‘You will soon witness a miracle,’” he told the gathering.

Johnson indicated a miracle might be just what was needed. “There is a real lack of civility among members of government,” he said.
