Cougars off to 7-0 start with potent offense scoring more than 65 points per game


Lyle-Wishram’s girls split an away and home series with Hood River JV last week while the boys continued their winning ways with a 60-55 win.

A couple of bad quarters doomed the Lady Cougars in Hood River, early in the week as they lost 62-51. Pressure defense led to too many turnovers and a pair of 10 point margin quarters for the Hood River JV. Lacy Carse scored 20 points in the losing cause and Maelynn Luke had 12 points and eight steals for the Cougars. Jacqueline Diendorfer led the team with nine rebounds.

It was a different outcome two days later in Lyle. Each team had a big quarter, but Lyle-Wishram held their early lead and went on to win 45-39. Carse again led the Cougars with...
