Wellpinit boys bludgeon Gorge teams, ladies 1-1 at TLG and Klickitat

DEFENSE: Wellpinit’s Brodie Ford tries to force his way through the defense of Alex King, front and Gunnar Hoodenpyl.

Klickitat County schools were 1-3 against the visiting Wellpinit Redskins over the weekend. The only winning team from the county was the TLG girls who edged the visitors 48-45. TLG and Klickitat boys teams were routed by scores of 70-36 and 75-27, respectively and the Klickitat girls lost 54-34.

Wellpinit travelled a long distance for the games against 1B opponents from far apart districts. The team left the unincorporated community on the Spokane Indian Reservation, about 50 miles northwest of Spokane on Friday, arriving for the game at Trout Lake around 5:45 p.m. They played the two games that night, stayed overnight at the school and then stopped in Klickitat for a couple more games...
