Food bank benefits from GMS students’ efforts



GMS raises $686 for food bank: Goldendale Middle School students Johnathan DeMott, Ocean Bryan, and Suzanna Bilderback present a check for $686 to John Quinn of the Goldendale Food Bank.

Eighth grade students at Goldendale Middle School were the overall winners of the school’s annual penny drive competition. The total raised during the event was $686. In addition, GMS students brought in 1,078 cans of food, weighing 820 pounds. Marc Baughan’s eighth grade classroom was the overall canned food winner.

Riverview Savings Bank agreed to match both the food and cash contributions made by middle school students.
