Lewis shoots 81 percent to lead Lady Wolves at Winlock tournament

Goldendale’s girls suffered their first league loss to La Salle in Goldendale, Dec. 21. The previously unbeaten Lightning used a pressure defense that trapped Goldendale at mid-court forcing 23 first half turnovers on their way to a 64-43 win. Deanna Avalos and Grace Martin had hot hands for the Lightning, scoring 10 and 13 points, respectively, in the first half on 11-17 shooting. Rebounding of Alexis Ladiges and the shooting of Jessica Lewis cut the lead to seven points during the second quarter, but the Lightning pushed the lead to 21 at the half.
