Speed kills Goldendale in league home opener against La Salle

INSIDE MAN: Isaac Messenger battles inside against La Salle, scoring 15 points in his best game of the year.

La Salle played like their Lightning name as they used their speed to run over the Goldendale Timberwolf boys 61-46 in the final basketball action before Christmas. La Salle ran a fast-paced offense with constant motion and crisp passing to set themselves apart from the Timberwolves.

Goldendale stayed in the game through the first quarter thanks to missed shots by the Lightning and a rebounding edge for the Timberwolves. Nine turnovers and poor shooting in the second quarter hurt Goldendale at a time when the Lightning were zeroing in on their three-point shots.
