Weather records broken in 2012

In 2012, Washington experienced a total of 11 broken heat records, seven broken snow records, 27 broken precipitation records, and 31 large wildfires.

Klickitat County set two records. In the first, the Mt. Adams ranger station set a new record for highest minimum temperature in April at 67 degrees on April 23, 2012. That was 15 degrees higher than the previous highest minimum temperature in the month of April of 52 degrees, also on April 23 but in 1934, some 78 years earlier. In the second, Bickleton set a new record for rainfall, with 1.56 inches of rain on March 30, 2012, higher than the 1.2 inches of rain that fell March 25, 1935, 77 years earlier.
