Goldendale logs first win in home romp over Mabton

Goldendale used their size advantage to defeat Mabton 52-38 last Saturday, marking the Timberwolves’ first conference win of the season. Goldendale held a comfortable lead throughout the first half with great inside play from Isaac Messenger and an attacking offense led by Lucas Denney. Denney had help on the outside from Josh Frost and Kenner Milliren, back from a knee injury suffered in December.

Ben Cochran went on a tear in the second half with one of his better games, scoring 11 points and pulling down seven rebounds for the game. Denney would finish as the game’s leading scorer with 17 points and Messenger scored 10 to go with seven rebounds.
