Knights kill Cougar momentum, maintain hold on Gorge league

There was a lot of optimism at Lyle-Wishram as they approached their showdown against Sunnyside Christian, last Saturday. You couldn’t blame the Cougars who had a banner week going. They started by blasting Columbia Adventist 64-43, avenging their only loss of the season, and they mowed down Yakama Tribal 93-53. The high scoring offense thought they had something for the Knights, but it wasn’t to be.

Sunnyside Christian shut down Lyle-Wishram, winning every quarter on the way to a 57-26 win. It was the lowest point total for the Cougars this year after averaging 67 points per game while amassing an 11-1 record. None of the Cougars reached double digits with Jonathan Von Ahn scoring a...
