Pirates win, but Cougars lock in to District

BALL CONTROL: Haley Goodnight sets the offense against Sunnyside Christian. Goodnight will need a good night or two as the Pirates fight for a District berth this weekend.

Bickleton’s girls got even with Lyle-Wishram in a 44-33 win on the Cougar’s home court, last Friday. The win avenged an earlier loss to the Cougars in Bickleton, but Lyle-Wishram remained solidly in second place in the Greater Columbia Gorge League.

It was a huge win for the Lady Pirates on a night that their scoring leader, Jamie Venema was held to seven points. Picking up the slack was Lindsay Brown who had a phenomenal night with 17 points and 25 rebounds. Sydnie O’Banion also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Pirates.
