Denney scores 34 in loss to Granger


The play of Granger’s Christian Ochoa spurred the Spartans to a second half come-from-behind win over Goldendale, overshadowing a fantastic night of shooting by Lucas Denney. Ochoa took it upon himself to lead Granger’s offense in the third quarter to help the Spartans swap a 31-28 deficit for a 49-42 lead, which they never relinquished on their way to a 69-63 win.

The star of the night, however was Denney who would score 34 points. The senior guard hit nearly everything he put up in the first quarter, scoring 11 of Goldendale’s 15 points. By half time he had 18 points on 7-13 shooting, including 2-3 on three-point shots.
