County emergency radio program cost goes up


Department of Emergency Management Director Ed Powell reported to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) last month that the price tag of the radio project has increased significantly.

The original estimated price for building the county wide radio system, towers, and affiliated building was around $4.3 million. That number has now increased due to inflation and higher cost than originally expected. The Klickitat County radio project is in its seventh year of development.
