Evelyn Jean Freer



Evelyn Jean Freer passed away in Selah, Washington on January 31, 2013 at the age of 71. She was born in Brush, Colorado on November 11, 1941 to Iva (Young) and Lloyd William Smith.

On July 4, 1969, Jean married Lee Freer at the Goldendale Church of the Nazarene in Goldendale, Washington. Mrs. Freer was very active in the church . She loved art and singing, and over the years babysat for 144 local children. No one was ever a stranger to Jean.

She is survived by her husband Lee of Goldendale; sisters Virginia Etl of La Plenta, California, Barbara Anderson of Iowa and Beverly Hembry of Yuma, Colorado; brother William Smith of Paolo, Colorado; half sisters Verla Taylor of Kansas, Verlene Kozica of Richland, Washington and Betty Foster of New York; and half brother Gaylord Tillotson of Richland, Washington. She was preceded in death by two half brothers and four half sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, February 7 at the Goldendale Church of the Nazarene. Columbia Hills Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
