To the Editor:
We need stiffer gun laws to take guns out of the hands of criminals? How does this statement make any sense?
A criminal breaks laws—what law or how many laws could be passed to take guns out of the hands of a criminal? Laws only affect people who abide by them. Killing a person is against the law, and people still kill people. Not one gun law, not a thousand gun laws, will stop a person intent on breaking the holy grail of laws: killing a person is against the law! Criminals do not follow any laws no matter how they are written or how many are passed. Not one criminal anywhere on earth is affected by laws; they are criminals, law breakers.
A law-abiding citizen does not...
