Goldendale schools in soft lock-down


As reported in the Breaking News section of the online version of The Sentinel last Thursday, Feb. 14, Goldendale’s middle and elementary school students and staff spent most of the day in a soft, or modified, lockdown due to the concerns by school officials that threats were made by a man whose ex-wife has a child in the school system.

A soft, or modified lockdown, according to Goldendale School District Classroom Procedures, means no one outside the school buildings is allowed in, and those inside are locked in, not allowed out, and classes otherwise continue on as usual.
