We already have a community center

To the Editor:

Why is Goldendale doing a feasibility study to tell us what we already know? This is unnecessary. We already have community centers. They’re called schools. We pay taxes to keep them open and warm.

People go to the schools in the evenings and on weekends for various events. Open the buildings after school for the pleasure of all the citizens.

Open the cafeterias on weekends for pancake breakfasts and chili or spaghetti feeds. Make money by selling other foods such as Mexican food, soups, sandwiches, pizza, and hot dogs. Students can fix these foods and sell them.

Open the gym on Sunday afternoons for local musicians to play easy-listening music for people to enjoy. It wou...
