Counts pitches one-hitter as Lady Wolves rout Bears in opener


Goldendale’s fastpitch softball team couldn’t have dreamed of a better start to the season, taking it to Kiona-Benton on the road in a pair of wins, 18-3 and 12-5. The opener featured a stellar pitching performance from Crysta Counts as she give up just one hit while striking out 12 and walking five batters.

Counts worked three hitless innings in the second game, striking out six more batters without a walk. Sierra Lamping finished out the game with four innings of four-hit ball.

The hitting power was provided by Allison Hutchins who was 3-5 with a double and five RBI in the two games. Also having a good day at the plate were Karissa Ihrig, 2-3 with 2 RBI in game one, Lamping, 2-3 wit...
