Wolves drop pair to Bears in baseball opener in Benton City


Goldendale opened the baseball season in Benton City against Ki-Be with a pair of bookend losses, 9-4 and 8-4. The scoring line for the two games was similar with Ki-Be carrying a big lead into the final inning and Goldendale scoring a pair of runs that proved to be too little, too late.

The bright spot for Goldendale was a hitting performance that was nearly equal to the Bears, but the timing of the hits wasn’t as good, typified by the three-run home run by Cody Zyph that gave the Bears an edge that the Wolves couldn’t overcome in game one.
