Why Iran is connected with terror

Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

I appreciate the time that the two individuals made to respond to my letter two weeks ago. I would, however, like to clarify a few points that were made.

I am in no way, shape, or form in favor of nuclear weapons. But with that said: since we already have them, how can we tell someone else that they can’t have them? Practice empathy and put yourself in Ahmadinejad’s position, Mr. Castleberry. Would you attack the U.S. or an ally of the U.S. considering the stockpile of arsenal inside our borders? The answer is no. You would be assuring that your country would be annihilated.

The only reason that Iran is connected in peoples’ minds to terror is because President George W. Bush placed it into the “Axis of Evil.” Why did he do that? In part because after 9/11 there was no geographical location that we could attack for revenge. An enemy had to be made, and Iran was one of the easiest targets. But I digress.

I do agree with Mr. Seborer that disarmament of nuclear weapons needs to start taking place. Nuclear power in general is not “clean” in any use of it, despite what people say. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
