Parsons' bat propels Vandals in split over White Swan

AGGRESSIVE RUNNING: Klickitat’s Kenzie Schlangen is thrown out at the plate, trying to take advantage of a bobbled ball by a White Swan infielder. The Vandals won the game 12-2.

It was a day of big innings as Klickitat took on White Swan for a pair of games in Klickitat on Saturday. The Lady Vandals won the first game 12-2, but lost the second 20-17.

Klickitat scored six runs in the second inning in the opener behind the slugging of Lara Parsons who had a double and a triple in the game. Three runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth ended the game an inning early. Chelci Curtis shut the Cougars out through the first four innings and allowed just five hits while striking out seven batters.

The Vandals were all over the Cougars with an 8-run first inning, but White Swan drew close with six in the third inning and took a 15-12 lead into the top of the fifth. F...
