Timberwolf boys run away with Moro meet

SWEEP: Goldendale swept the boys’ 100 meters at the Sherman County Invitational, Saturday. Isaac Messenger (center) and Briley Cameron (left) ran what appears to be a dead heat, but the photo-timed event gave Messenger the win in 11.60 seconds. Cameron was timed in 11.62. Daniel French (right) finished third in 12.23 seconds.

Goldendale’s boys and TLG’s girls turned in hot performances on Saturday to give their teams strong finishes at the Sherman Invitational at Moro. No team could match the dominance of Goldendale’s boys, who literally ran away with the meet. The Timberwolves finished 100 points higher than the runner-up team from Culver. Goldendale’s boys had 13 top three finishes in running events compared to 18 for the other 16 teams combined. Sherman County was third and Lyle-Wishram was the fourth placed boys’ team. Bickleton, TLG and Klickitat had good placings in several events, but each of those schools had partial teams at the meet. Bickleton placed eighth behind a pair of wins by Peter Cl...
