Lady Wolves respond to warm weather with sweep of Vikings

Goldendale came out of the gate strong to roll over Mabton on Friday, 21-2 and 13-1 in their SCAC opener.

The runs came in bunches in the first game, as Mabton fell behind 10-0 in the first inning. The Vikings were sluggish in the opener, perhaps due to the lack of the usual refreshing blast of sleet-filled air. But, the Lady Timberwolves thrived in the warm, sunny conditions. Sensing a rout, Goldendale throttled down their offense in the second inning, letting stolen base and scoring opportunities go by as they continued to play solid defense.
