Lady Wolves respond to seventh inning challenge to win 10-9 over Lightning

CUT DOWN: Goldendale’s Karissa Ihrig takes a throw from catcher Sarah Henderson to tag out a Lightning player attempting to steal in the first inning.

For just a couple of innings, it looked like the weather would be Goldendale’s best teammate as a blast of freezing wind in the face of La Salle’s bench seemed to have the Lady Lightning looking for a quick exit from Goldendale. It was 4-0 after two innings before La Salle got a key hit to put them on the board. From that point on, it was a ball game.

Karissa Ihrig set the pace for the Lady Timberwolves in the first inning with a single and two quick stolen bases. Crysta Counts was hit by a pitch and Sarah Henderson walked before Kirstin Twohy singled Ihrig home.
