Javelin throwers' have heyday in White Salmon

 


There was something in the air last Friday as personal records (PR) fell like rain in the javelin. The prime spot for throwers had to be White Salmon, although a couple of throwers from Bickleton also had success at Kittitas.

The boys from the Greater Columbia Gorge League dominated the event over a strong field of mostly 1A schools in the Bruin Invitational at White Salmon. Jacob Ziegler, of Lyle-Wishram stunned the group by throwing more than 11 feet beyond his previous best to win the javelin with a throw of 146-feet, 4-inches.
