Patriot drill performance earns equestrians a trip to State



SILVER MEDAL TEAM: Goldendale’s equestrian drill team placed second in District and will perform at State. Riders from left are Elizabeth Matula, Makiah Steen, Amelia Tyndall and Heather McElravy.

It was do or die time for Goldendale’s equestrian team, last weekend in Moses Lake. With their final district meet at hand, only one rider, Amelia Tyndall was locked into State.

Tyndall, the winner of the figure eight at the two previous meets only finished sixth in the event last weekend, but still was the overall gold medalist. Tyndall also qualified for State by placing second in the working rancher event, which placed her second overall in the district, earning her the silver medal. Tyndall is also the first alternate in steer daubing, after placing fifth last weekend, fourth overall.
