Sign honoring Titus goes up at Lyle School

80-years young: Jim Titus and friends celebrated his 80th birthday recently. Titus served as principal/teacher/coach at Lyle School until retirement in 1990.

Hail, hail, the gangs all here….at Jim Titus’ 80th birthday party held at Spooky’s in The Dalles. He was honored not only for his 80 years on the planet, but by those who love and respect him for his years of service to the Lyle School System. He and his lovely wife, Joan moved here in 1958, directly from Western Washington University in Bellingham. He accepted the position of principal/teacher/coach while Joan taught Business Education/ Typing/Class Advisor. They maintained these roles until retirement in 1990. I guess if you do things right the first time you don’t have to change employment in your career. On his special day a sign designating the “James A. Titus Auditorium”...
