Time soon for voters to decide on new countywide EMS District



PROPOSED EMS DISTRICT BOUNDARIES: This map shows the proposed boundaries of the new EMS District. The far eastern portions of the county have opted to be served by medical facilities closer to them.

From all outward appearances, the delivery of emergency medical services to Klickitat County residents has the same look and feel as always—call 911, expect an ambulance and first responders at the front door in short order.

But unless most of these same residents vote to approve the .30 per $1,000 six-year property tax levy for the newly formed countywide Emergency Services District (EMS) in August of this year, the look and feel of these essential services will change.
