Walter "Gene" Colver



Walter Eugene ‘Gene’ Colver, 87, a resident of Wishram, Washington died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at a local care center.

‘Gene’ was born August 14, 1925 in Omak, Wash., to Joseph and Gertrude (Van DelIen) Colver. He was raised and educated in Omak and Kent, Wash., graduating from Kent High School. On Dec. 22, 1946 he and Donna ‘Peaches’ Williams were married. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corp. Gene worked as a conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad for 47 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and reading history books. Gene was preceded in death by his wife.

He is survived by his step-sister Peggy Hutchinson of Bremerton, Wash., sons Michael of Wishram, Wash., Monty and his wife Shirley of Moses Lake, Wash., Craig and his wife Jill of Pasco, Wash. There are five grandchildren and seven great-grand children.

Arrangements are under the care of Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home, The Dalles.
