Klickitat Vandals softball team headed to State

Klickitat is headed to State. It was a long way to travel to face off against rival Lyle-Wishram, but the Lady Vandals left no room for doubt, defeating the Cougars 13-2 in Ellensburg on Friday. The win puts Klickitat in the State 1B tournament that starts this Friday at 1 p.m. at the Yakima Sports Complex against Colton.

The format for the two districts had the top teams from District 5 and District 6 face each other with the winner receiving a berth in the State tournament as number one seed from the Regional. The runners-up, Soap Lake in District 6 and Lyle-Wishram in District 5, played a single elimination game with the winner destined to play the loser of the championship game with a...
