Herrera Beutler missed the point

To the Editor:

I was glad to read that Congresswoman Herrera Beutler recently visited the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. The report in The Sentinel lacked detail I believe the people of Klickitat County deserve.

There are currently six tanks of nuclear waste leaking three gallons per day into the ground, which is being added to the million gallons that has previously been leaked. In fact, this is why Gov. Inslee visited Hanford this past March.

The cleanup is currently being slowed by the layoff of 200 workers and the 2,500 being furloughed due to the so-called Sequester. This is the same Sequester that Congresswoman Herrera Beutler voted for. Perhaps that is why the congresswoman gave lit...
