Board hears on primary school music program

At Monday’s meeting of the Goldendale School Board, primary school music teacher Barb Stout announced through a representative her intention to file a grievance.

“This is not a RIF [Reduction in Force] matter,” Superintendent Mark Heid responded to Sue Laib, who told the board of Stout’s decision.

“We know,” Laib replied. She then asked if the board wished to hear detail of the grievance in executive session. The board chose to do so and dismissed the public for about 40 minutes, then reopened the meeting to the public. Details of the grievance were not disclosed at the meeting.
