Strother follows career path to Highland High

LAYING DOWN THE HEADSET: Don Strother has resigned his appointment at Goldendale High School and will become Assistant Vice Principal at Highland High School at Cowiche. Strother taught history and was head football coach in Goldendale since 2008.

After five years as Goldendale’s head football coach, Don Strother is moving on. Strother has accepted an appointment as Assistant Principal at Highland High School. It fulfills a career goal for Strother who says he has always wanted to get into school administration.

Strother completed his Masters degree in administration in 2009 and completed an internship at the Goldendale Middle School. He taught eight years at Goldendale. As Assistant Principal, Strother will also serve as Athletic Director at Highland and will be in charge of discipline and faculty evaluations. One thing he won’t be is a coach.

Strother was 30-20 at Goldendale, taking his team into the cross-over playoffs each...
