Prosecutor reports new trial results

Jury finds Goldendale man guilty of rape in speedy deliberation


On June 6 a jury deliberated less than two hours before finding Goldendale resident Dexter John Bush, 46, guilty of one count of aggravated rape in the first degree, five counts of aggravated rape in the second degree, two counts of aggravated witness intimidation and one count of aggravated felony harassment. Both the victim and the defendant testified during the two-day jury trial. The case was prosecuted by Kate Mathews.

Goldendale resident Rex W. Floyd, 36, was sentenced on June 3 to 24 months in prison following his April 4, 2013, conviction for possession of methamphetamine. Kate Mathews represented the state at trial and at the sentencing hearing.
