Upper Klickitat opens June 13 to July 31


The WDFW announced on Tuesday that the upper Klickitat River from 400 feet upstream of the #5 fishway (about one-half mile north of Fisher Hill bridge, to boundary markers at the Klickitat Salmon Hatchery will be open from June 13 through July 31 for up to two hatchery, adult spring chinook as part of the daily limit.

The hatchery had 351 returning adult chinook as of June 10, well on its way to the goal of 500, allowing the action. The daily limit is six salmon with no more than two adults, the same as the lower Klickitat. Barbless hooks are required.
