July 4 activities include softball game, BBQ, music and quilt raffle

Glenwood News

An old-fashioned July 4 celebration is planned in Glenwood this year! Beginning with a pancake feed at the church between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The youth group is cooking breakfast to raise funds for their summer camp.

At 10 a.m. a community softball game will take place at the school. So dust off your mitt and plan to take part in the game!

A potluck BBQ is scheduled at 1 p.m. next to the Grange. Please bring side dishes, salads or desserts to share. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided. The Pearson Family will provide live music at 2 p.m.

At 4 p.m. the winning raffle ticket will be drawn for the beautiful red, white and blue quilt, made by the women of Pioneer Memorial Community Church! Games and face painting will also be part of the day’s celebration as well! Bring your family and friends to enjoy the day’s activities!

Wishing you all a nice Fourth of July! Whether you’re staying home or travelling – have fun and be safe!

The weekly pinochle gathering at the Glenwood Grange will not be held on Friday, July 5 due to the holiday. Plans are to resume July 12 at 7 p.m. The pinochle evenings provide mind stimulation, good opportunities to visit and snacks! Check it out if you know how to play Pinochle or would like to learn.

Found: A pair of women’s reading glasses in a raspberry-colored soft vinyl case was found following the rodeo. I suspect they are prescription glasses. If the glasses are yours, please contact Terry at 364-3371.
